Broad coverage of the multi-interdisciplinary Health Informatics area. o. Topics: introduction to the health informatics, major applications, scope, methods, evaluation of healthcare information systems and principles of electronic health record. o. Reference to expert systems and decision making in healthcare. Principles & applications of telemedicine in healthcare. Health associated ethical-legal topics. Teaching Goals Contents Students will have the opportunity to understand the principles of Health Informatics and primary applications in healthcare organizations, with case examples. Important areas, such as Electronic Health Records and Telemedicine will be further analyzed. Students will also learn the database principles applicable to healthcare organizations, for the efficient organization of health data.
