Metadata Upload WIS centers could upload their metadata file through Beijing WIS Portal. An ISO 19139 schema validation results will be showed in the webpage, which may be useful for users to correct the error. Upload status and validation results
Metadata on line editor Ø Create (Insert) metadata into WIS Ø Edit (modify) metadata from WIS Ø Delete metadata from WIS New metadata could be downloaded to local PC or upload to GISC Beijing directly.

Metadata harvest OAI Protocol: → If WIS centers have a OAI provider, GISC Beijing could easily harvest the metadata. → An ISO 19139 schema validation and a responsibility check are given to the metadata. → GISC Beijing publishes the valid metadata into WIS. FTP Protocol: → Metadata can also be harvested using FTP push and pull through Internet or GTS. 1) FTP push. WIS centers push their metadata to GISC Beijing’s FTP server. GISC Beijing will import these metadata automatically. 2) FTP pull. WIS centers publish their metadata in a FTP server. GISC Beijing harvest metadata from this FTP server. XML file name must as: TM_<<TTAAII>>_C_<<CCCC>>_<<YYYYMMDDhhmmss>>. xml or ZM_<<local product identifier>>_C_<<CCCC>>_<<YYYYMMDDhhmmss>>. xml → An ISO 19139 schema validation and a responsibility check are given to the metadata. → GISC Beijing publishes the valid metadata into WIS.
Services about Data - Data discovery Search metadata from multi centers one time
Data Access & Retrieval – 24 hours cache Data Access & Retrieval – from 24 h data cache Available data in 24 -hours cache of GISC Beijing to retrieve directly Link to request data beyond 24 hours in GISC Beijing URL for access data in Click here to access data list directly GISC DWD from 24 hour data cache
Data Access & Retrieval – data request Data Access & Retrieval – through data request For accessing near real-time data stored in CMA and JMA
Data Access & Retrieval – data subscription Data Access & Retrieval – through data subscription For accessing real-time data and receiving the data routinely in future Delivery Ways for subscription data n GTS n Internet Other WIS/GTS centers via FTP , TCP sockets Other centers, end-users via FTP, HTTP, SMTP n CMACast System Other centers ( CMACast users)
CMACast – CMA’s Broadcast System for Meteorological Data As a major component of CMA’s national meteorological data dissemination system, CMACast provides the most effective way to obtain real-time meteorological data in China. Meanwhile, abroad users in Asia Pacific Region also can share those data dissemination services by CMACast.
CMACast – A component of GEONETCast As successor of FENGYUNCast, CMACast has taken over FENGYUNCast’s responsibility to GEONETCast completely.
CMACast’s one-stop data services Main station To organize data To disseminate data Receiving stations To Broadcast data To receive data To process data 20
CMACast’s coverage Asia. Sat 4 Location: 122 degrees East Coverage: Asia, Middle East, CIS and Australasia Transponders: 28 Transponder Bandwidth: 36 MHz EIRP: 41 d. BW max Westest: Iraq Southest: New Zealand
CMACast’s Users CMACast has been fully operating since June, 2012. More than 2600 receiving stations in China. 25 oversea users in Asia Pacific Region. Australia Bangladesh (2) DPRK Indonesia Iran Kazakstan Kyrgyzstan Laos Malaysia Maldives Mongolia Myanmar Nepal Pakistan (2) Philippines Sri Lanka Tajikistan Thailand (2) Uzbekistan Viet Nam Hong Kong Macau 22
CMACast’s Strategy Ø Meteorological data is broadcasted in files. Ø Data is organized in 3 level directories – channel, Level-I and Level-II directory. Ø User authorization – open channel, Level-I and Level-II directory. Ø CMAcast has one main network and several sub networks. - Main Network is used to configure system, channel and sub network. - Sub Network is used for user registration and authorization.
