Introduction Is there a statement of the problem
Introduction • Is there a statement of the problem? • Is the problem researchable? • Is there a research question? • Is the research question(s) in line with the statement of the problemt?
Review of Literature • Does it follow a standard (e. g. APA)? • Is the review comprehensive? • Are all cited studies listed in the Reference?
• • • Participants • • • Method Is the size and the major characteristics of the participants described? Is the sampling procedure described? Is the context given? Instrument • • • Is the instrument described? Is it appropriate Is the procedure to develop the instrument explained? Design and procedure • • Is the design appropriate for the purpose of the study? Are the procedures described?
Results • Are the results clearly presented? How are they interpreted? How are they related to the problem? • Are the tables and/or figures (if any) well organized and easy to understand? • Are the date in each table/figure (if any) described in the text? • Are there any excerpts from the interviews (if appropriate)?
Discussion • Is each result discussed in terms of its agreement and disagreement with previous results by other researchers? • Has the researcher effectively linked the findings to literature that was disscussed in literature review? • Have any ideas been overemphasized or underemphasized? • How did each result contribute to answering the research question(s)? • Are theoretical and practical implications of the findings discussed? • Are recommendations for future action made?
General Reflection • Is the research important? Why? • What are your suggestions to improve this research? • Would it have been possible to conduct this research using a different approach? • Is it possible to draw other conclusions that the researcher hasn’t reported? • Do you think the study is trustworthy? Why not?
