Introduction Divine Principle & URANTIA v 1

The Urantia Book (sometimes called the Urantia Papers or The Fifth Epochal Revelation) is a spiritual and philosophical book that originated in Chicago sometime between 1924 and 1955. The authorship remains a matter of speculation.

The authors introduce the word "Urantia" as the name of the planet Earth and state that their intent is to "present enlarged concepts and advanced truth. “ The book aims to unite religion, science and philosophy, and its enormous amount of material about science is unique among literature claimed to be presented by celestial beings.

Among other topics, the book discusses the origin and meaning of life, humankind's place in the universe, the relationship between God and people, and the life of Jesus. It has been described as "a rich and complex moral narrative, equal parts Tolkien and St. Paul. "

There are several parallels between the Urantia Book and Divine Principle revealed by Dr. Sun Myung Moon. Urantia has its origins in Chicago sometime between 1924 and 1955 1936 -1945 = the period the Divine Principles was revealed by Sun Myung Moon.

Is the simple (? ) explanation the outpouring of Spiritual Truth effected the whole Earth, during those years SMM fought His cosmic battle in Spiritual World. 1935 -44 Compare to the Spiritual outpouring to Branham 1933 and 1946:

During a 1933 baptismal service at the Ohio River at Jeffersonville, Indiana, a SUPERNATURAL BEING appeared before hundreds of people saying to him, "As John the Baptist foreran the first coming of Christ, you will forerun His second Coming. William Branham USA had been hearing voices since he was seven years old. Finally, in May of 1946, Branham was commissioned by an angel from God to be the forerunner of the Second Coming of Christ. Comment: In June 1946 TF (Sun Myung Moon) went to Pyong Yang to search for the prepared Spiritual groups for the Second Coming of Christ. It seams like that Heavenly korean mission "spilled over" to Branham in USA. 1946

Its content is similar to Divine Principle: the origin and meaning of life, humankind's place in the universe, the relationship between God and people, and the life of Jesus. Urantia The book aims to unite religion, science and philosophy. DP Introduction: Humanity through religion has followed the path of searching for internal truth, and through science has followed the path of seeking external truth. Religion and science, each in their own spheres, have been the methods of searching for truth in order to conquer ignorance and attain knowledge.

Eventually, the way of religion and the way of science should be integrated and their problems resolved in one united undertaking; the two aspects of truth, internal and external, should develop in full consonance. Only then, completely liberated from ignorance and living solely in goodness in accord with the desires of the original mind, will we enjoy eternal happiness. /DP v 1996 page 3

Nature of God According to The Urantia Book, God is the creator and upholder of all reality — an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, infinite, and eternal spirit personality. The most fundamental teaching about God in the book is that he is a Father. "The face which the Infinite turns toward all universe personalities is the face of a Father, the Universal Father of love. "

DP : Similar to the concept of God Man as Father-Son relationship. /SMM 1979 What is the center of the universe? That central principle or axis of the universe is the father-son relationship. It is the starting point of all.

In any family there is a father-son axis and everything else surrounds that. When one family assumes the father position, other families assume the son's position in the society. Any corporation operates the same way; the president is in the father's position and the employees are in the children's position.

By the same token, in a nation, a head of state is in the parental position and the people are in the children's position. A true central figure should be thinking like a father would think. /SMM April 15, 1979

Urantia: Sin and Evil "Evil is the unconscious or unintended transgression of the divine law, the Father's will. Evil is likewise the measure of the imperfectness of obedience to the Father's will. Sin is the conscious, knowing, and deliberate transgression of the divine law, the Father's will. Sin is the measure of unwillingness to be divinely led and spiritually directed. Iniquity is the willful, determined, and persistent transgression of the divine law, the Father's will.

Comment: Urantia seam to focus on disobedience as the root of Sin as Christianity does. Not adreessing the core issue HOW disobedience can be multiplied through Mankinds generations as Original Sin. DP: Fall of Man John the Baptist reproached the people, calling them "a brood of vipers, "26(Matt. 3: 7) that is, children of Satan. Jesus said to the scribes and Pharisees, "You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? "27(Matt. 23: 33) These verses affirm that we are the offspring of an illicit sexual relationship involving the angel and our first ancestors.

DP Blessing God's blessing can be everywhere… Now it is rooting out of Satan's blood lineage. Without doing this the four position foundation could not be fully realized. Urantia: A divine Creator Son is considered the highest personification of the Universal Father and Eternal Son that is possible for people to know and: ". . . is, to all practical intents and purposes, God. “ Jesus of Nazareth is identified as a Creator Son who incarnated on Earth, and the central theme of the book's section recounting his life and teachings is that the religion he preached is the highest known to the world. - Christianity

DP: God intended that human beings be the creators and lords of the natural world by endowing them with the character and powers of the Creator; these are to be realized once they reach perfection through the fulfillment of their responsibility. Seen from this perspective, these verses are in agreement with our understanding of Jesus as the man who has completed the purpose of creation; they do not signify that Jesus is the Creator Himself.

Urantia: To "follow Jesus" means to personally share his religious faith and to enter into the spirit of the Master's life of unselfish service for man. One of the most important things in human living is to find out what Jesus believed, to discover his ideals, and to strive for the achievement of his exalted life purpose. Of all human knowledge, that which is of greatest value is to know the religious life of Jesus and how he lived it.

Urantia Cosmology The book describes that at the center of the cosmos is the stationary Isle of Paradise — the dwelling place of God — with Paradise being surrounded by "Havona, " an eternal universe containing a billion perfect worlds, around which seven incomplete and evolutionary "superuniverses" circle.

DP: The Kingdom of Heaven and Paradise Had Jesus completed his mission as the Messiah on earth, (I. e. had Family, children, grandchildren… New Sinless Mankind, based on Jesus Family) the Kingdom of Heaven on earth would have been established in his day.

DP: The Kingdom of Heaven and Paradise The Kingdom of Heaven in heaven would also have been realized at that time, once people of perfect character living in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth had passed into the spirit world as divine spirits.

DP: The Kingdom of Heaven and Paradise However, because Jesus died on the cross, the Kingdom of Heaven on earth was not realized. The earth never saw the appearance of people who had reached the level of a divine spirit. Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven in heaven remains empty and incomplete.

The Urantia Book teaches not only biological evolution, but that human society and spiritual understandings evolve by slow progression, subject both to periods of rapid improvement and the possibility of retrogression.

Urantia: Progress is said to follow a divine plan that includes periodic gifts of revelation and ministry by heavenly teachers, which eventually will lead to an ideal world status of "light and life" in the far distant future.

The first humans are said to have been male and female twins called Andon and Fonta, born "993, 419 years prior to 1934. “ Comment: This was probably revealed 1934, since that year is mentioned. 1935 SMM received his Divine Mission as the Second Advent of Christ.

…gifts of revelation and ministry by heavenly teachers /Urantia DP: Because religions lack the power to guide modern people out of the dark valley of death into the full radiance of life, there must emerge a new expression of truth that can radiate a new and brighter light. Jesus indicated that God would someday reveal a new truth: "I have said this to you in figures; the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures but tell you plainly of the Father. "5(John 16: 25)

What missions must the new truth fulfill? The new truth should be able to unify knowledge by reconciling the internal truth pursued by religion and the external truth pursued by science. Consequently, it will enable all people to overcome the two types of ignorance, internal and external, and fully comprehend the two types of knowledge.
