2 nd Grade Mathematics TEKS q 1(D) Mathematical Process Standards- communicate mathematical ideas, reasoning, and their implications using multiple, representations, including symbols, diagrams, graphs, and language as appropriate. q 10 (D) Data Analysis- draw conclusion and make predictions from information in a graph.
What is Transformation? Transformation is a figure that can be moved to a new position without changing its size or shape. For example: If we move this heart in a new position, it has a specific name. We will learn ways to move a figure and the vocabulary terms.
Example of Transformation Let’s look at this angry birds picture. We can see that the bird has been moved to different positions but did not change the size or shape. Rotation, Reflection, and Translation are the vocabulary words that we will learn when moving figures.
