FAQs Q. Does the Res. Med tubing wrap provide any benefits in humidification and comfort? A. Yes, the tubing wrap helps retain the heat as the air travels down the tube, providing warmer air to the mask. This warmth provides greater comfort and increases the amount of humidity able to be provided. This graphs shows how the saturation point increases with the temperature of the air. 13% more AH 10 H 4 i Launch Training © Res. Med 2008 June An increase as little as 2°C in air temperature results in a 13% increase in the amount of humidity able to be delivered to the mask. This can make all the difference between rainout and comfortable therapy.
FAQs Q. Can the H 4 i water chambers be used with the Humid. Aire 3 i docking station? A. Yes, by replacing the H 3 i top cover and seal with the H 4 i variants, you can use either H 4 i water chamber on a H 3 i docking station. (sealed) Note: You cannot use the H 3 i water chamber on the H 4 i docking station. 11 H 4 i Launch Training © Res. Med 2008 June
FAQs Q. Why do the H 4 i water chambers hold less water than the H 3 i water chamber? A. The H 3 i has 60 m. L of unusable water. While the stated capacity is 415 m. L, only 355 ml can be used. When the water level falls below the level of the tub plate, the remaining water is not usable. The H 4 i is designed with a large plate as the base, therefore all 390 m. L of water can be used. FAQs Q. Why is the H 4 i still being shipped with the carry pouch? How does the pouch fit into the new black flow generator bag? A. The new black bag is designed to be used without the carry pouch (see picture). The carry pouch does not fit into the new black bag. The H 4 i is initially being shipped with the carry pouch, as unfortunately there are still products being sold with the original blue bag. This bag requires the carry pouch to ensure adequate protection for the humidifier. The carry pouch is expected to be removed from the H 4 i packaging towards the end of the year. 13 H 4 i Launch Training © Res. Med 2008 June
