MASTERColour CDM-T/TC Elite 35 W/70 W / 942 FAQ’s (1)… Will the existing CDM 942 lamps be kept in the portfolio? Yes, the existing CDM 942 lamps will be kept. Do I need a new reflector when I change current Elite to the new generation Elite? The lamps have been designed with the same LCL and are retrofit in existing luminaires. In most cases a new reflector design is not needed. Some remarks: just like with any ceramic metal halide lamps, we advice to use facetted reflectors for optimal light distribution. In some applications, optical behaviour could be different compared to CDM lamps with cylindrical burners. This depends amongst others on reflector design and beam angle in combination with burning orientation. We provide optical files to support reflector optimisation. Can the CDM Elite 942 lamps be used in outdoor application? EL gear benefits: more light output, less power consumption, better lumen maintenance, no flicker, better end of life protection. However, for existing installations it is not always economical to change EM gear to EL gear. In such cases Elite brings for the existing socket a substantial better performance. Will performance be different on EM gear for the 70 W T lamp?
