The Need For A Poultry Industry § The Federal Government's ban of importation of poultry products has resulted in the rapid growth for the flourishing Poultry Industry in Nigeria. § There is a global shift from the consumption of red meat - which increases heart disease and liver problems - to healthy white meat. § There is demand for self-sustaining projects to meet the overall needs of African children: hence –One. Hope. Children’s mission to embark on a poultry business. 3

Hopechildren, Inc. a 501(c) 3 nonprofit foundation dedicated to advancing and providing educational and healthcare opportunities for indigent children in the rural communities of the South Eastern Zone of Enugu State of Nigeria, Africa. § Registered with the IRS, donations are tax deductible for U. S. taxpayers—as allowed by laws and regulations. 5

Conclusion Economic Justification From our analysis, the planned project has been found economically justifiable in that it creates jobs, wealth, reduces poverty and empowers people. The project is also in tandem with the central mission of One. Hope. Children Inc. Regulatory Issues Given our analysis and findings, the proposed poultry farm is found to be technically feasible, financially viable and economically desirable. The project offers good investment benefits to One. Hope. Children, Inc, and most likely would become a selfsustaining, and self-supporting platform for the organization. We therefore, have no hesitation in recommending the project for funding and implementation. 27
