- Interviews give you the chance to tell someone about yourself – your strengths, your achievements and your personal qualities - This lesson provides an opportunity to do that. You will get the chance to be in the role of an interviewer and be able to observe someone else as well as being the interviewee - Most people are nervous about selection interviews for jobs and courses. One way to reduce anxiety and perform better at interviews is to get some practice - This should help you to do better next time when it may really be “the most important 20 minutes of your life!”

• 1. Landscaping Company • The company requires an enthusiastic person wanted to be part of the demanding world of landscaping. The person must be able to work as part of a team, be a good communicator, be prepared to work long hours, be physically able to handle the demands of the job and be interested in meeting the clients needs.

• 2. Grocery store • Maxi is looking to hire a cashier/stock person to work at their store. The ideal candidate must be able to work as part of a team, be punctual and reliable, be friendly and helpful with customers and come to work with a good attitude.

• 3. Discount car service • Discount is looking to hire students to help clean customers cars – this includes the interior and exterior of the car. The ideal candidate must be responsible with the vehicles, punctual, professional and hard working. A drivers license would be beneficial.

• 4. Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream shop • Ben and Jerry’s is looking for individuals to work behind the counter to serve customers. Candidates must be friendly, helpful, learn the flavors, be able to answer questions about the product, be punctual and represent the brand well.

• 5. Canadian Tire • Canadian Tire is looking to hire employees to work on the floor stocking shelves and assisting customers with questions. Candidates should be eager to learn, be reliable and punctual, and have a customer first mindset.

• 6. YMCA Summer camp • The YMCA is hiring enthusiastic youth to work as camp counsellors and life guards this upcoming summer. Ideal counselors will work well with others, have an affinity for working with children, be responsible for the wellbeing of others, be punctual, enjoy being outside on a regular basis, and have a positive attitude.
