Pengertian Community Work • Community work adalah “the process of assisting ordinary people to improve their own communities by undertaking collective actions. ” (Twelvetrees, 1991). • Community work adalah suatu proses dalam membantu masyarakat untuk meningkatkan diri mereka sendiri melalui suatu aktivitas-aktivitas kolektif.

• Menurut Johnson (1984), Community work merupakan spesialisasi atau setting praktek pekerjaan sosial yang bersifat makro (macro practice). • Community work didefinisikan sebagai metode yang memungkinkan orang dapat meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya serta mampu memperbesar pengaruhnya terhadap proses-proses yang mempengaruhi kehidupannya • (AMA, 1993).
