Readiness for Internship • Program milestones that must be met before applying for internship • Pass comprehensive exam • Propose dissertation prior to internship ranking (in February) • Internship app process requires an investment in time, money, and energy • Is it realistic that you can apply this year? • Know program requirements for faculty to approve readiness • Sites favor applicants whose dissertations have at least been proposed • Consider whether you’ve acquired the experiences (type & amount) that will make you competitive for the sites you are applying to
