Internet safety… • Avoid being a part of too many social networking sites. • Observe the minimum age requirement for your security on sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. • Never give your personal information (first/last name, home address, phone number, passwords, school name etc. ) • Never send a picture of yourself to a stranger • Do not share details of your life with others online • Keep your phone and account privacy setting high
Internet safety… • Never open e-mails, files, web pages or inappropriate links from people you don’t know or don’t trust • Always check with your parents before downloading • Never respond to new and unknown people online • Do not meet online strangers in person • If a cyber-stranger asks to meet in person, immediately inform your parents. • Never tell a stranger where you are going or what time you will be in certain places.
Internet safety… • Do not buy or order anything online without adult supervision • Avoid watching inappropriate videos (pornography, violence, etc. ) • Tell an adult if something makes you scared, confused and uncomfortable. • Be a responsible cyber citizen ( do not post rude or inappropriate content). • Do not respond to mean, rude or inappropriate messages (cyber bullying). • Don’t delete such messages; save them as proof. • With help of an adult, report any cyber bullying or cyber crime to the police.
