Internal Communications Systems There are three Internal Communication Systems on the new fireboat: 1. Vingtor Stentofon ACM-M-D IP based integrated general purpose intercom/public address system. 2. Vingtor Batteryless (Sound Powered) Telephone system. 3. Long Beach Fire Department VHF handitalkies.

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System This system is essentially an internal

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System This system is essentially an internal phone/intercom/PA/and talk-back speaker system. It is programmable, extendable, and can receive input from off-ship communication sources such as: land-line telephone, cellular phone, satellite phone, fire station PA, fire station dispatch, vessel security, vessel alarm and monitoring. System has two (2) Flush Mount IP Master Stations with hand-sets in wheel house; one at forward and one at aft wheel house consoles. There are four (4) Wall Mount Master stations through out vessel. There are six (6) water proof Main Stations in the machinery spaces and main deck work areas. They are equipped with talk back speakers and noise cancelling head-sets for semi-hands free communications in high noise/high activity areas. To further enhance hands free communications the are six (6) IP handsets with blue-tooth head sets.

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System There are six (6) Wireless Hand Sets with Blue Tooth Headsets. Can be used for “hands free” communications throughout vessel. Can call out or receive calls from any of the Main Stations, Master Stations or other Wireless Hand Sets. Repeater located in CIC overhead.

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System ACM-M-D System Rack Under ladder well in Multipurpose Room. “Brains” of the entire IP Communications System. This is where software changes, upgrades, system configuration, and communication inputs connect to the system. Note: 240 Volt A/C, so if power failure, this system will not operate.

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System Communications and Data Receptacle Port, Aft,

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Stentofon IP Communications System Communications and Data Receptacle Port, Aft, Bulwarks Door, near Shore Power Connection. This is where we connect shore side communications to the ship. This will allow for transfer of communications, security alarms, vessel alarms, (i. e. fire, bilge level), dispatches, PA announcements, land line calls, cell phone calls, internet, etc. between fireboat and fire station.

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Batteryless Telephone System (Sound Powered Telephone) Four Sound Powered Phone

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Batteryless Telephone System (Sound Powered Telephone) Four Sound Powered Phone Stations: 1. Wheelhouse (Starboard side of radio box) 2. Engine Room, Aft, Port (above fuel oil transfer pump) 3. VSP Room 4. Aft Hold (Foam Room)

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Batteryless Telephone System (Sound Powered Telephone) The Sound Powered Telephones in the machinery spaces also come with head phones for semi hands free communications

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Batteryless Telephone System (Sound Powered Telephone) A blue flashing light

Internal Communications Systems Vingtor Batteryless Telephone System (Sound Powered Telephone) A blue flashing light and audible alarm will also alert you to a call coming in on the Sound Powered Phones located in the machinery spaces. Note: The Sound Powered Phone creates its own power, and does not rely on an external power source to operate. It will continue to operate even if ALL vessel power systems fail

Internal Communications Systems LBFD Handi-Talkies Another reliable means of communications throughout the new fireboat

Internal Communications Systems LBFD Handi-Talkies Another reliable means of communications throughout the new fireboat are our LBFD VHF Handi-Talkies. Using a direct channel on these radios should allow us the ability to talk to each other from any location on the vessel. As we begin operating the new fireboat, we will gain a better understanding of what communication devices will prove to be the most user friendly. Each system will have its strengths and weaknesses. We will quickly discover our preference for each system as we learn the personality of the new fireboat.
