About Us Interlibrary Loan allows users to request materials that aren’t available in Penn State Collections.
About Us • In 2018 -2019, we borrowed 48, 693 items for Penn State faculty, staff and students from other institutions. • We loaned 61, 691 items from our Penn State collections to libraries around the world.
About Us • We also supply materials from our own collections to Penn State faculty, staff and students. • Last year we placed holds on 3, 403 locally owned items for patrons, and delivered 10, 243 articles or book chapters that were available in our collections.
Statistics • Growth: 1, 027 items in FY 15 -16, 1, 308 in FY 1829 • Patrons consistently request material that’s locally owned; 959 checkouts this year were from the Penn State collections, with 323 coming from Interlibrary Loan and 26 from E-Zborrow.

Requesting physical materials • Users in North America are eligible to receive physical loans of materials • If requesting physical materials, users should ensure that their mailing address is up to date in both library accounts • Items are delivered via UPS – We currently cannot ship to P. O. boxes or APO/FPO addresses (we're working on this!)

Requesting Loans • World users that are eligible to receive physical materials can request items from the Penn State University collection and beyond. • At this time, patrons are responsible for the costs of return shipping. We are working on this and hope that in the future, this cost will be covered and not the responsibility of patrons.

Articles and book chapters • World users can use their Interlibrary Loan account (ILLiad) to request book chapters and articles, from Penn State collections and in items we don't own.

Getting in touch with ILL • Users can also chat live with ILL staff from 8 am to 5 pm via our Libraries chat service. – Go to https: //libraries. psu. edu/services/interlibraryloan-services and click the “Ask a Librarian” icon. – If someone is not available, patrons can also submit a help ticket, and we will reach out to them ASAP.
