Eco Club Good morning and Happy New Year from the Eco Club. After the great news about getting another Green Flag – we are looking forward to doing some more exciting things this year. The first fun thing of this year is the Big School’s Birdwatch 2016. Let’s watch this video to show what it is all about. https: //ww 2. rspb. org. uk/discoveredandenjoynature/discoverandlearn/schoolswatch/ All we have to do is spot and count different types of birds we can see in an hour around school. We have until the 12 th of February to complete the count and enter our results. Does anyone remember any birds we saw last year? You might remember that Lindsey Taylor from RSPB came to school and made delicious food that we put out and encouraged birds to come and eat. She is hopefully coming again this year but we have some interesting recipes for anyone to try.

Eco Club To help us get us ready to identify birds, have a look at and try out some of these resources: • We have big posters and small A 4 cards showing different birds up close so you know what you might look out for. • There is a great Power. Point presentation that gives great tips on how to identify birds • There is a pairs game to play with different birds • There is a Top Trumps card game for birds • There are lots of different origami birds that you can make Next week we will put up our school map showing places you could go to count birds. We will also give classes the sheets they need to count and everyone can choose a good spot to watch. There is also a Big Garden Birdwatch coming at the end of January. More details to follow but if you want to register you can do it now – just follow the link below: http: //www. rspb. org. uk/birdwatch
