Science Notebook Supplies Glue or glue stick Spiral Notebook Or Composition pens & pencils scissors colored pencils NO MARKERS!
Open to the MIDDLE of your Notebook o Make a title page called “Research Notes” o The second half of the notebook is for YOU. o This is where you will take notes on your research topic Does NOT have to be set up interactive notebook style

Step 2: Starting with the first page, number the first 50 pages. Numbers should be small and at the top outside corner of every page. o ok v o C er o o b e ot f. N 1 2 3
Step 3: At the top of pages 5, 6, 7 write Table of Contents. Divide each page into 3 columns, date, description, page #. 5 Table of Contents Date Description Page # 6 7 Table of Contents Date Description Page # (Skip pages 1 through 4) These will receive reference pages Description Page #
Step 4: Add the following reflection questions on page 1. You will use these as open response questions. When you can’t think of something else to do for your left side entry, use one of these. Remember open response means a paragraph and a paragraph has multiple sentences. 1 • What are you curious about? • What would you like to test? • What was the main idea? • What are the important details to remember? • How does this relate to your life? • What don’t you understand?
o The RIGHT side of the notebook contains information given to you by Mrs. Holder. This is the ESSENTIAL information that I will give you on research skills. Nothing else should go on this side.
BOCA: Complete the following: consumer, producer, decomposer Plants, mice, and other mammals are. The DAY’S ACTIVITY is placed on the LEFT side of the notebook. INCLUDES: q. BOCA q DAY’S ACTIVITY q. May be a graphic organizer, a song, a drawing etc.
