Findings � Marked intracapsular soft tissue swelling of the right tibiotarsal joint � Articular erosions involving the distal tibia and trochlear ridges (talus)
Follow-up � The cytology of the joint fluid revealed marked neutrophilic inflammation without organisms seen; however, the kitten had been on antibiotics from the breeder � Antibiotic therapy was continued but no response was noted; because of the possibility of mycoplasma infection the antibiotic therapy was changed to treat mycoplasma and the patient responded well
