About Bio. Ventures Founded in 1994 as the Biomedical Biotechnology Center (BBC) as part of the College of Medicine Bio. Ventures facility opened for business in 2003 BBC and its Bio. Ventures incubator program transferred to the office of VC for Research in 2007 as UAMS Bio. Ventures Privatized operations into Bio. Ventures, LLC on 3 January 1, 2017 Bio. Ventures is the owner of all intellectual property developed at UAMS.

Why Disclose Intellectual Property? Who Cares? It’s the law! The Bayh-Dole Act requires government contractors/grantees to disclose all inventions arising from research funded, in whole or in part, by the government. It’s University of Arkansas System policy! Policy 210. 1 states that the ownership of all intellectual property created by an employee of the University shall reside in the University. To benefit patients, most intellectual property will need to be commercialized To achieve NCI designation, new valuation of entrepreneurship and commercialization
