Addition of integers • Adding two positive number always have a positive sign. • Adding two negative integers always have negative sign. • The sign of the sum of the two different signed numbers differ in number who has a greater value. Ex: 1+2=3, -1+2=1

Subtraction of integers • If both signs are positive, the answer will be positive. Ex: 10 -2=8 • If both signs are negative, the answer will be negative. Ex: -10 -(-2)=-8 • If the signs are different subtract the smaller absolute value from the larger absolute value. Ex: -2 -(8)= -2+(-8)=-10 Ex: -8 -(2)=-8 -(-2)=-6 Note: To subtract integers, change the sign on the integer that is to be subtracted.

Multiplication of integers • Positive multiplied by negative equals to negative integers. Ex: 2*-2=-4 • Negative multiplied by positive equals to negative integer. Ex: -3*5=-15 • Product of positive and negative is always positive integers. Ex: 2*4=8 Ex: -3*-9=27

Division of integers • Quotient of two different signed integers are always negative. Ex: -35/7=-5 • Quotient of two positive or two negative integers are always positive. Ex: 21/7=3 -27/-9=3
