What is Insurance? ? • Insurance: Ø an arrangement between an individual and an insurance company to protect the individual from risk. • We buy insurance to help limit the financial losses when accidents occur.
Insurance Vocabulary • Policy: Ø a contract between the individual and the insurer specifying the terms of the insurance arrangement. • Premium: Ø The fee paid to the insurer to guarantee coverage.
Insurance Vocabulary • Deductible: Ø The amount paid out of pocket by the policy holder for the initial portion of a loss before the insurance coverage begins.

Auto Insurance
Why should I have auto insurance? Car insurance coverage is designed to help financially cover potential auto-related damages, loss or injuries. It helps protect you, your passengers, your fellow drivers, pedestrians, other people's property and your vehicle. It can also help protect you in the event of an automobile-related lawsuit.
