A FEW ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS Follow directions. Do not eat or drink in class. Learn and follow group and laboratory rules. Do not mishandle or abuse equipment (including computers). All forms of electronic equipment are NOT allowed (IPods, Cell Phones, etc…) No Hats No Vandalism My desk and the area behind my desk is for my use only All guidelines within the Warner student handbook will be followed in this classroom

CONSEQUENCES (+ AND -) If at any time a student’s behavior is unacceptable, the following consequences will apply: 1 st Offense, teacher reprimand/verbal warning 2 nd Offense, removal from class activity 3 rd Offense, parent notification and detention 4 th Offense, long form behavior referral **Severe misbehavior calls for an immediate removal from the classroom. ++++Positive Consequence = stress free classroom environment

ENTERING THE ROOM Please enter quietly Have a seat Take out your materials Review the agenda Begin bell ringer assignment If you are not in your desk when the tardy bell rings participation points will be deducted

WHEN YOU ARE TARDY Enter quietly. Excused: Place excuse in the basket on my desk. (Slip from the office or note from the teacher) Unexcused: fill out place on my desk tardy slip and Have a seat and take out your materials quietly. If I do not have a slip, participation points will be deducted.

SCHEDULED CHECKOUT Please let me know as you enter the classroom. Pack you materials and leave at the scheduled time. If it is an EMERGENCY, quickly get my attention and I will assist you. Form: Fill out Absence Form “What I missed form. ” Scheduled Absence Form

ABSENCES Each day is a building block for the next day’s work, so attendance is critical. If you have an excused absence it is your responsibility to get any missing assignments and/or notes. “I didn’t know” or “I wasn’t here” are not acceptable excuses! Fill out the appropriate absent form Check for extra handouts. Get notes from someone in class (check 3 before me!) Make an appointment with me for clarification / make-ups If a student has been absent from school for two (2) or more consecutive days will teachers send homework home.

BEING EXCUSED FROM CLASS Come to class with all materials and your completed assignments. You will not be allowed to go out to your locker to get any of these items after class has begun. Learning can not occur if you are roaming the halls. Therefore, leaving during class is discouraged. If you need to leave, you must use an available restroom pass during your own work time, or when your work is finished, not during lecture or when you are involved in group work. No passes the first 10 minutes of class. Please, be responsible. You will not be allowed to leave during a day of a test until finished with the test or an emergency Restroom Use: You get 4 passes per semester; if un-used they will be extra credit

EVALUATION Late Work Policy Weighting scale of grades for this class Student Self Assessments I don’t give grades, you earn them!

PARTICIPATION Student Behavior Log (negative behavior) 20 points per week Deduction of one point for each behavior logged/documented Positive Office Referral (+1 -5 points) Attitude, Integrity, Enthusiasm, Service, Accountability, Self-control, Compassion, Respect, Citizenship, Encouragement, Gratitude, and Honesty

TESTS Tests are scheduled. Make sure you use the bathroom and get a drink because I will not excuse you until finished. Unless of an emergency. Test has to be completed before the student can leave the classroom.

TURNING IN PAPERS Place your paper on the desk next to you. When you receive a paper, place yours on top and continue passing the stack to the end of the row. A classmate or I will come by and collect all stacks.

PAPER HEADING NEEDS TO BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED Your name Date **Homework Title _________________________________________________________ No Name – Deduct 3 points from the assignment ** Homework title is only needed for typed assignments and journal log entries.

CLASS DISMISSAL The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. Stay seated until dismissed by instructor. Before you leave the classroom make sure: All materials are cleaned up. Push chairs in when you leave

WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR HOMEWORK Student Responsibility Card Fill it out. Turn it in with the homework papers. What is the penalty for late work? If I am sick, how many days do I have before it is considered late?
