PART FOUR Design a questionnaire Send it out to classmates/ family Compile results Remember: • You need a mixture of open and closed questions • You need to include questions about the person answering AND about the kinds of content they would like • No more than 15 questions
PART FIVE Write THREE ideas for your video then choose and justify one of them Remember: • THREE ideas of which ONE will be the idea you take forward to the pitch • Two of the ideas need not be too detailed or even viable • The ONE idea needs to be justified in your choice – why have you selected it over the other two?
The Pitch 1. Use only about 350 words 2. Be PERSUASIVE using key words 3. Only the ONE key idea 4. Overview of the idea rather than specific points (Obviously you can’t take a written pitch into the exam. BUT by writing it now and doing a shorthand version in your notes, you will remember what to do)
The Proposal 1. A detailed breakdown of the 2 minutes (content overview) 2. A schedule and budget 3. An equipment list and list of personnel needed to make the film 4. A consideration of technical requirements (although you might have this in the content overview) 5. A consideration of any legal & ethical issues
The Treatment 1. Storyboard with 15 shots Each shot must have a shot number, a shot type, shot duration, arrows for any camera movement, a description of what is happening in the shot, something to indicate the sound, a transition. 2. Justification of every shot
