This group will remain on the current salary schedule at the current step. In the future, this group will merge to the new salary schedule. Group 2: This group contains teachers who did work one day over half of the 20092010 school year and are eligible for an increase. It also contains teachers who may not have worked one day over half of the 2009 -2010 school year, but received the $500 performance stipend in lieu of a step increase at the beginning of the 2008 -2009 school year. Group 3: This group contains teachers who worked one day over half of the 20072008 school year and received the $500 performance stipend given in lieu of a step increase at the beginning of the 2008 -2009 school year AND who worked one day over half of the 2009 -2010 school year and are eligible for an increase for 20102011.

Why an Open Range Schedule This is a good transition to the St. Johns’ concept for performance pay…. If all are on the same schedule, but the PP can accelerate at a faster pace….
Proposed St. Johns County Performance Pay Draft Model
Performance Pay Draft Model Developed through SJCSD RTTT evaluation committee Focused on a model that is easily understood and can be maintained Allows for flexibility in design priorities
Performance Pay Draft Model Does not provide a set grandfather salary schedule Does not provide for a placement schedule for new employees Model can be applied to 2013 -2014 teacher pay increases
PHE must be a larger amount of money than any increase on the grandfather schedule PE must be 50% - 75% of the PHE
GF = Grandfather/PSC PE = Performance Effective/AC PHE = Highly Performance Effective/AC
Performance Pay Draft Model Ratio: 1 : 1. 5 : 2 GF = x PE = 1. 5 x PHE = 2 x
Performance Pay Draft Model GF + PE + PHE = Total $ (#GF)x + (#PE)(1. 5 x) + (#PHE)(2 x) = Total $
Performance Pay Draft Model Example: 1800 total teachers (1000 GF, 600 PE, 200 PHE) with $1, 000 to spend on raises
Performance Pay Draft Model 1000 x + (600)(1. 5 x) + (200)(2 x) = 1, 000 1000 x + 900 x + 400 x = 1, 000 2300 x = 1, 000 X = $435
Performance Pay Draft Model GF = $435 PE = $652  PHE = $870
