INSTITUTE OF LEATHER INDUSTRY www. ips. lodz. pl There are chemicals particularly dangerous to human health and the surrounding environment. They can cause serious diseases in adults, but also cause disturbances in children’s proper development. This group of chemicals is under special “supervision” of European Union legal articles, which undoubtedly means a detailed inspection of their presence in articles intended for use by the consumer. The presence of some of the substances classified as hazardous was determined in skin samples supplied in the project. 16

On May 15, 2012, the Regulation of the European Commission obliging member states to ensure that products containing DMF have not been placed on the market. Dibutyl phthalate is used mainly in plastic production as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, but also as a plasticizer in the manufacture of sealants, adhesives, and printing inks, used in rubber processing Azo dyes - due to their properties, are widely used in industry, among other things for dyeing leather, fabrics. Some azo dyes may release (by chemical reduction or by enzymes action) aromatic amines, which in many cases have carcinogenic effect in the human body. 17
