(4 days) n The 3 rd cone is made of two halves containing the FMDs n lifting tools allow for slow and accurate positioning of 3 rd cone n Spoke structure reduces material in front of FMDs and allows for visual inspection u. ALICE) 3 rd cone Section 2 SPD cone Two half cylinder/cones n Specific installation tools are being designed n SPD services (cables, fibres & capillaries) are pre-assembled in the cones n Fix the two, coupled, SPD half-cylinders to temp. support, above the 3 rd cone, using a 2 nd series of bolts & precision plugs n ¨SPD fixed in cantilever mode to temp. support, SPD pigtails on RB 24 side.
