Please take a moment to review the tips below to ensure that we all continue to keep our company’s information secure: 01 Recognizing Phishing attacks are a top threat to any company and YOU play a huge role in protecting the company. Cyber criminals will take advantage of people’s new working routines, heighted emotions, fear, and anxiety to trick you into clicking on a malicious link, opening an attachment, or getting you to accidentally give up sensitive information like log in IDs, passwords, or credit card information. Review ALL emails carefully for indicators of a phishing email before responding, clicking on links, or opening attachments 02 04 While working from home you may be tempted to leverage your personal email/cloud accounts, removable media, home printers, and personal devices to conduct business. These are not approved methods of doing company business. Using personal email, accounts, and home printers puts non-public information at risk of loss or theft. Additionally, USB drives and other removable media can spread malware and viruses between devices. Use only approved methods to store and share data and don’t email non-public information to your personal accounts Don’t ever plug USBs from unknown sources into your company issued device Securing Your Internet Connection While working remotely, you will be using your home Wi-Fi, internet, or hotspots to connect to the internet. Securing these networks is key in protecting your internet connection. Our company’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides added security when using public or home networks for internet. Change the default password on your internet router or wireless access point to a unique password as the admin passwords can be easy to guess or well-known Ensure that only people you trust know your Wi -Fi password and can connect to your wireless network or hotspots Connect to our company’s VPN while working from home on your company issued laptop to protect sensitive data Keeping Your Devices Updated Our technology team will continue to periodically push software updates to keep our devices secure and updated in order to deliver remote-working capabilities. It is required to connect to the network via VPN to allow automatic pushes to install on your computer. Contact our HELP DESK for any technical support questions. Connect to the network via VPN, and re-boot your computer as prompted, to allow for software updates to install as needed 05 When in doubt, report suspicious emails Data Storage and Sharing Don’t use USBs or removable drives to save, backup, or transfer documents between personal and work devices/laptops 03 Be specifically cautious of Coronavirus themed emails from unknown sources that claim to have information or cures Leverage the Software Center or Self-Service (MAC) to download software as needed for your role Do not download software from an unauthorized or unverified source Family & Friends While you are working at home, protect your company issued devices by ensuring that others aren’t using them. Others could come into contact with sensitive information, accidentally delete documents, or inadvertently download malware while trying to check email, play games, or download software. Lock your company issued and connected devices when you aren’t using them or when you walk away from them and don’t share your password Use your company issued and connected devices primarily for work purposes Keep non-public and confidential information out of hearing range and eye-site from family members Additional Resources & Questions Visit www. comapnywebsite. com for other information security resources.
