• The PDG brings together 3 institutions, Lakehead University (Education), Kwayaciiwin and the Self-Reg Institute to develop new knowledge and understanding of self-regulation practices and its impact on literacy development. • The partnership signals a pro-active and deeply thoughtful collaborative response to a call for action relating to the clearly identified rising number of students experiencing stress, tension, anxiety and a variety of other mental health challenges. • The partnership creates a powerful synergy of skill sets to address the need to boost school success in the schools we serve through culturally relevant, sustainable and community centered literacy practices (eg oral storytelling)
