PS start-up & POPS • Plan for POS & MPS – – – “ 7 th to 16 th April : test with POPS on PS magnets 16 th to 18 th April: test with MPS on PS magnets 22 nd April to 10 th May: run with PS machine (due to EN/CV maintenance of cooling station) 11 th May to 19 th May: no run due to installation of magnet covers 20 th May restart with POPS – We plan to make measurements on Test magnets during the next week. PSB • • Completed. - Installation of 4 new SMV power converters in the BCER. - Installation of the Finement cavity (LIU project) - Installation of the BLM cables. In progress – Installation of the beam dump cooling system and BTY access stairs – Civil engineering works to create a new cable trench to service the beam injector line (LIU project). – Commissioning of the BT. KFA 10/20 hydraulic & control circuits. – Cabling of the beam dump instrumentation & remote monitoring system. – Installation of the newly designed Pick ups (Type UES). – Cooling circuit upgrades to the main bending and quadrupole magnets. – Renovation of the PR 134 crane. – • New PR 137 Renovation PR 134 SMV power converters Finement cavities CV consolidation and maintenance of CV, kickers, Septa, vacuum beam instrumentation, Magnet and Beam stopper, cabling campaign. Forecast – Installation of the LIU BLM ionisation chambers. – Installation of the BTY line vacuum chambers. – Preparations for the identification of the PSB obsolete cables. – Installation of the modified BTM line SEM-GRID’s – Installation of the renovated BTY. SPS • BA 1: – Irradiated cabling campaign is on-going • • • TT 10: Work continuing on schedule. The re-installation phase of the work is going for ALARA approval next week. – Reinstallation of beam line has begun. • • • BA 2: The area has been cleaned. The magnets have already been installed. (see photo) – EN/EL have started the cable campaign in BA 2 - This work will continue until April 2014. – TE/ABT are in the process of replacing Septas in BA 2 • • BE-BI accidently opened the wrong flange and vented the vacuum on the Septa. ABT are currently looking into what impact this had on the Septa. (see presentation by B. LHC – P 1 1 st & 2 nd TCTP at CERN , since Jan. 22 nd • • “Preliminary reception done (mechanical part). We have implemented a specific reception procedure for these two first collimators to thoroughly test them at CERN on vacuum compatibility with the minimum effect on the installation date (week 10). This implies the installation of the RF-contact fingers in presence of the manufacturer. This step has been successfully achieved, also the reception test on the torque. The two units (with the TCSP spare) are now in the vacuum lab for a full qualification cycle with bake out. The results will be available in week 7.
