Injector Status • Enriched materials are used in both tandem (Ru) and EBIS(Zr). • Beam from EBIS (Zr and Au) uses 12 ->6 ->2 merge in the AGS, while beam • • • from tandem uses 8 ->4 ->2 merge in the AGS. There are two bunches at AGS extraction. The setup started on Feb. 20. We used weekdays and two shifts per day. Beam has been delivered to W-dump on green, blue, & yellow synchro for all 3 species. Switch between all three species has been tested and there are some glitches in the whole chain, such as L 20, H 10, and EBIS PS. The work continues today. AGS extraction bunch intensity for Ru and Zr are above 2 E 9, the intensity needed for 1. 3 E 9 intensity at RHIC store. Specifically, we have 2. 2 E 9 for Ru, 2. 4 E 9 for Zr. The intensity for Au is about 1. 5 E 9. This is mainly due to lower input from EBIS. The efficiencies in the injectors are similar to the past. New cathode at EBIS source needs time to be conditioned. This intensity is more than enough for the initial setup (Au will be the first specie for RHIC setup). To preserve the precious target material, we will inhibit beam when not in use. The preliminary emittance of Ru and Au are similar, and consistent with past. Haixin 2 Huang
