DD of nasal polyps Chronic rhinosinusitis polyp. Asthma. Seven per cent of the patients with asthma of show nasal polypi. Aspirin intolerance. Thirty-six per cent of the patients with aspirin intolerance may show polypi. Samter’s triad consists of nasal polypi, asthma and aspirin intolerance. Allergic fungal sinusitis. Almost all cases of fungal sinusitis form nasal polypi.
Cystic fibrosis. Twenty per cent of patients with cystic fibrosis form polypi. It is due to abnormal mucus. Kartagener syndrome. This consists of bronchiectasis sinusitis, situs inversus and ciliary dyskinesis. Granuloma: Churg–Strauss syndrome. Consists of asthma, fever, eosinophilia, vasculitis and granuloma. Tumour: inverted papilloma, adenocarcinoma, malignant melanoma Pseudopolyp: meningocele
