INFINITY BY JASON WANG MAIN QUESTIONS Does infinity
INFINITY BY JASON WANG
MAIN QUESTIONS • Does infinity really exist?
DEFINITION OF INFINITY • Infinity, the concept of something that is unlimited, endless, without bound. • infinitesimals are things so small that there is no way to measure them.
ASYMPTOTE (RATIONAL FUNCTIONS) • As x approach 0 y approach infinity • As y approach 0 y approach infinity
INFINITY IN MATH AND PHYSICS • Zeno’s paradox He keep dividing the distance By half infinitely but in physics there has to have unit
PLANK LENGTH • It implies that infinitesimals does not exist in physical world.
DOES INFINITY EXIST IN PHYSICS OR REAL WORLD • No idea Is time infinite? No one knows. Is universe infinite? No one knows. Is there anything that is infinite? Maybe.
DOES MATH EXIST IN MATH • Yes A line has infinite point. There are infinite natural numbers. 1, 2, 3… Infinity can be used in functions.
WHY THERE’S DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MATH AND PHYSICS • Math is a subject that make perfect sense. • physics is to understand how the universe behaves.
DOES INFINITY REALLY EXIST? • Yes and no Yes for math No for physics or real world for now and for what we know.
INFINITY IS A FLOORLESS ROOM WITHOUT WALLS OR CEILING.
