Infection Prevention and Control Principles Any trolleys used by passengers to transport luggage must be cleaned/disinfected after use. Hand hygiene must be performed: § Before putting on gloves § After removing gloves § Before putting on a surgical mask § Before touching a surgical mask and after removing a surgical mask § If the surgical mask is accidentally touched while being worn Encourage minimal contact/handling of luggage where able: § using handles § Use trolleys where available Gloves to be changed when the luggage handling session is completed and hygiene to be performed. Alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) is not to be used on gloves. Clinical Excellence Commission 4
