Infants 0 -6 months • • • Physical development hands, arm, legs, and rooting movements are all reflex motions. Rolls over from back to side. Stands up and holds weight with help Play time read to them, they will love looking at the colorful picture. Put a mirror in front of him, they will love to see something moving in front of them Play with noise toys, he will learn the cause and effect of hitting different thing the pleasant noises Clothing a 0 -6 month old baby will need help to dress them self. They will not be able to dress them self at all Eating You will feed them infant formula, you will need to feed them most likely every 2 -3 hours or on demand, and 3 ounces per bottle
Older infants 6 -12 months • • • • Physical development sitting up without support Crawling Possibly walking Play time dance with them, when you dance with them it can get there minds off stuff for a little bit Play peek-a-boo Clothing They will need help dressing themselves, dress them in one more layer then you would yourself they lose body heat. Eating They can eat small bit size piece that they can pick up (berries, cereal, and grains) NEVER GIVE CHILDEREN ANY FOOD THAT MAY CAUSE CHOKING Three meals per day There will be some days they eat a lot of food and some days they will only eat a little bit of food
Younger toddlers 12 -24 months • • • • Physical development walking Talking Pick up small objects Play time Play dress up Explore nature Play with play dough (don’t leave them unattended) clothing They will need a little help dressing themselves, clothing appropriate the weather Eating Simple food (fruit, milk, crackers, and cheese) 3 meals and 2 -3 snacks a day Some days they will eat more then other days
