ACADEMIC ACCREDITATION A committee has been formed between the industrial institute "Sabah al Salem" and the industrial institute "Shuwaikh" to obtain the academic accreditation. The similarity between the two institutes not only in all departments and majors but also in curriculum resulted in cooperation and participation. Through the Quality Office and Accreditation in Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), the two institutes have already addressed some academic institutions specialized in this field such as Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). An initial approval has been received to start up the accreditation procedures. 60 Back to Index
CONCLUSION The curriculums of the Industrial Institute Sabah al Salem were established by the (German Technical Corporation Agency )(GTZ) (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit ). The agency supervised and developed the curriculum until 2012. The Institute has graduated a great number of qualified technicians who are able to perform tasks efficiently. This contributes significantly to give the institute a high and distinguished position in engineering and industrial fields in Kuwait. It has been observed that there are insufficiency in graduates' follow up process so the institute's administration has formed a special committee to make studies and surveys ( The Alumni survey) and (Employers' survey) Despite the problems and obstacles the institute encountered, the overall performance for the period under report was quite satisfactory. 61 Back to Index
