Policy • The group realizes that policy and contents are interelated. • The group considers copyright and IP issues significant but difficult to resolve. Yet, we agree that regardless what, copyright law must be respected. • Interoperability is the key. Current standards in content development should be followed.
Contents • It is generally agreed that a great majority of the out of print resources are still under copyright restriction, therefore collective measures should be taken to persuade publishers to transfer copyright at a cost as minimal as possible • The group recommends to set up a portable Indo-US server with quality contents to meet the needs of the specifically targeted user groups. • Initially, we recommend starting with two or three areas within “education, ” “cultural and heritage, ” XXXXX • Contents refer to multimedia contents
Indo-US Collaboration • Collaboration implies equitable contribution • Creating and disseminating digital contents at affordable cost is a common goal • Complimentary strengths of the two nations enables the realization of this goal
