CONCLUSION The problems encountered by teachers are due to no mandate for them to integrate or incorporate IKSPs in their lessons, thereby limiting teachers to what they are told to by the authority. This unfortunately leads to impeding the willingness of teachers and their students to grow and preserve their indigenous knowledge. References and other resources are not easily available and accessible due to not having it as something necessary for the students and teachers to use: less demand = less supply. CONCLUSIONS Based from the findings, it is concluded that secondary science teachers use several topics related to Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSPs), for them to elaborate, explain and help connect the students understanding on science to the local and traditional knowledge that is present in their surroundings. CONCLUSION Furthermore, the IKSPs identified differ in its effectiveness when incorporated in the teaching of different science subjects. Several IKSPs were found to be highly effective as well as effective in specific subjects and moderately effective on other subjects. This then states that not all IKSPs can be used in one, two or all of the science subject topics as examples. Biology and Integrated Science does not have any significant difference due to the abundance of IKSPs that can be integrated in both subjects. RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Teachers should continue and add more Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSPs) during science discussions; 2. Public secondary science teachers should have a solid understanding of IKSPs; 3. Educators should be more resourceful and responsible; 4. Teachers should take into consideration the interest of their students in learning; 5. Schools and teachers should collect resources or make their own researches on IKSPs; 6. Education sector can have IKSPs as mandated area of the subjects by including it in the curriculum; 7. Seminars, trainings, symposiums and other gatherings that can add to and improve the knowledge of 13 th National Convention on Statistics students and teachers regarding IKSPs.
