The Dónde Está Method • We have currently learned two methods for speaking in Spanish. 1. The Magic Circle 2. The 1 -3 Method • Today we are going to add our third, “The Dónde está” method.

The Dónde Está Method • The word “¿Dónde? ” means “Where? ” We can use this word with the Magic Circle just like all of our other question words. Ex: Where are you going to eat today? ¿Dónde vas a comer hoy? • Or, we can use it in the “Dónde está” method. • The word “está” means “is. ” It can also mean he is, she is, it is, and even you are (formal). In question format though, “está” becomes is he? , is she? , is it? , or are you (formal)?

The Dónde Está Method • What does “¿Dónde está? ” mean? Where is…. . ? • Let´s see an example -¿Dónde está el baño? -Where is the bathroom? -El baño está a la derecha. -The bathroom is to the right.
