Indiana Department of Revenue Processing System RPS 2 -D Process Form Entry Print With Barcode Sign and Submit Taxpayer or Paid Preparer uses tax preparation software to complete tax return Just before printing, the tax preparation software will be modified to call a routine (DLL) passing all of the data from the form, and the routine will return a picture (bitmap) of the barcode which will be printed on the form Taxpayer will review the form, sign, attach supporting documents and mail as usual Added Code to Paid Preparer software Open and Scan Data Entry Center will receive form with barcode, apply document locator number (DLN), and scan into Revenue integrated tax system Validate and Post The scanned data will go through the same validation and posting processes as if it had been keyed in or submitted electronically Added Code to Revenue integrated system software 4
