SECTION A READING COMPREHENSION – 20 MARKS ØThis section will have two unseen passages followed by a variety of questions. The total range of the two passages – can be a poem or a prose piece (around 900 -1000 words) (12 Marks) Ø Reading passage of 550 -600 words for Note- Making and Summarizing. a) Note making - 5 marks b) Summary – 3 marks (8 marks)
SECTION B [Writing ] �WRITING– 20 MARKS Ø Short writing/composition tasks : [4 Marks] notice/poster/advertisement/invitations. Ø Formal letters based on verbal input covering all types of letters(business and official) [6 Marks] Ø Long Compositions in the form of article, speech, reports or a Factual Description. [10 Marks]
�SECTION C-GRAMMAR – 10 MARKS Ø Different grammatical structures in meaningful contexts will be tested. This includes gap filling, sentence re-ordering, dialogue completion, and sentence transformation. Ø Grammar syllabus includes Determiners, Tenses, Clauses, Modals, Conjunctions, Reported Speech and Change of Voice. Ø These grammar areas will be tested using the following Short Answer Type and MCQ type questions.
