Assignment Example: The Triangular Trade was a three-sided route involving Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Manufactured goods were traded from Europe to Africa, and to the colonies in North America. Africa traded their gold and ivory to Europe as well as slaves to the Americas. Raw materials and natural resources such as sugar, tobacco, rice, cotton, and rum were traded from the British colonies. The trade route was the beginning of world trade and economy as we know it today. People from three continents took part in the trade which also caused waves of immigration between the three continents. As different cultures interacted with each other, cultures spread between the three continents. This was the beginning of slavery and as a result of the slave trade, five times as many Africans arrived in the Americas than Europeans which caused a big increase in the population. These are some ways that the Triangle Trade, changed the world.
