Definite Article = Specific If you want to say “I want THE shirt that

Definite Article = Specific If you want to say “I want THE shirt that you gave me for my birthday” It is a very specific shirt. Therefore we use a definite article. English = The French = Le, La, L’, Les Je veux la chemise que tu m’a donner pour mon anniversaire.

Indefinite article = Not specific If you want to say: “I want A shirt”

Indefinite article = Not specific If you want to say: “I want A shirt” instead of “the shirt”…it is not a specific shirt and you must use an indefinite article.
