ADRESSING THE PROBLEM • THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS WILL INTIMIDATE YOU BUT DON’T E INTIMIDATED BY THEM THEY ARE SIMPLE AND SOMETIMES THEY CAN PUT YOU TO SLEEP
• OK SO FIRST YOU HAVE TO THINK WHAT THE PROBLEM IS • Ok so if the price is $20. 00 and the discount is 50% you go $20. 00 times $. 50 and you get the discount which is 10 so you go $20 -$10 and you get $10 and that is 50 %
ANOTHER PROBLEM • SO we told you how to do the problem now lets see you do it by your self. • Price is 50$ and the discount is 20% so we got 11. 00 is that right? • If you said no you are right and if you got yes go back to slide three. • The answer was actually $10 in this problem.
PUT IT ALL TOGETHER • REMEMBER YOU TURN THE PERCENT INTO A DECIMAL AND THEN MULTIPLY • WHEN YOU GET THE NUMBER ADD OR SUBTRACT THE NUMBER TO THE ORIGNAL PRICE AND YOU GET YOUR NEW PRICE.
THE STEPS • FIRST YOU TURN THE PERCENT INTO A DECIMAL • NEXT YOU MULTIPLY THE DECIMAL BY THE ORIGNAL PRICE • THEN YOU ADD OR SUBTRACT AND YOU Ge. T THe PRICE.
Price s With Cents • Ok it is like the first one but all you have to so is add the decimal to it • So you go 20. 50 X. 50 • And the answer is 10. 25
Make Up Your Own Problem • Make up your own problem all you have to do is get a number and a percent and make it a decimal and multiply. • Making your own problem is very easy just pick some random numbers and just make up your own problem • So now you have your random numbers and random percents now you can finally figure out the price of the product you are buying on sale by yourself.
• So we taught you how to find prices with discounts • And with decimals • And how to make your own problem
