BACKGROUND OF PROJECT Collaboration: • Local Aboriginal Elders and Aboriginal community members, Aboriginal academic staff (IKE), Academic Language and Learning Advisers, DLF staff Aims: • To initiate and sustain meaningful dialogues between educators, students and local Aboriginal Elders and community members as to articulate local Aboriginal pedagogies/ways of learning and teaching and how these can be incorporated into teaching practices at Deakin. • To develop a resource, informed by and co-constructed with local Aboriginal and Aboriginal community members, that can support non-indigenous educators in creating a more inclusive and culturally appropriate educational environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
