Section 1 – Students with IEPs (pgs. 8 -16) ü When appropriate, student involvement

Section 1 – Students with IEPs (pgs. 8 -16) ü When appropriate, student involvement in determining accommodations is recommended. ü Instructional strategies and specially designed instruction should support students when accommodations are being faded. ü Individuals providing accommodations must be trained appropriately. Section 2 –English Learners (EL) (pgs. 16 -22) üEL students must participate in annual

Section 2 –English Learners (EL) (pgs. 16 -22) üEL students must participate in annual English language proficiency assessment. üFirst year EL students receive a one-time exemption on the state assessment. üMathematics and science test for participation only at the appropriate grade level as first year EL. Section 3 –Students with 504 Plans or a Medical Emergency (pgs. 22 -28) üStudents who qualify under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act receive accommodations outlined in plan üInjury or ailment that restricts access to the general curriculum üForms for medical emergencies remain in the district. They are not required to be submitted to the Office of Assessment and Accountability (OAA). KDE: OAA: DAAS: Module 3 5

Section 4 –Students in Alternative Programs and State Agency Children (pgs. 28 -29) üStudents

Section 4 –Students in Alternative Programs and State Agency Children (pgs. 28 -29) üStudents in alternative programs shall be included in state-required assessments. üKentucky School for the Deaf and Kentucky School for the Blind are alternative programs and must test accordingly. üState agency children shall have the same assessments administered as other public school students.
