UNDP GCP – SECO COLLABORATION SECO – Promoting Sustainable Trade “It is our aim to contribute to sustained economic growth, high employment and fair working conditions, by creating the necessary regulatory, economic and foreign policy framework” (SECO – a Portrait) UNDP – Green Commodities Programme « GCP exists to improve the national economic, social and environmental performance of agricultural commodity sectors. It does this in order to improve rural livelihoods, mitigate climate change and maintain ecosystem services and resilience of landscapes and seascapes » (GCP – Strategy) 3 year collaboration to support Indonesia Palm Oil Platform, to establish Peru Coffee Platform and to strengthen global support for National Commodity Platforms 2 million CHF agreement for 2015 -2018

Project Team Formation u Global Team fully on board with a new Communication Officer, Lisa Hiller u Indonesia team fully on board with a new Finance Manager, Pak Adjie, and Rauf Prasodjo promoted National Platform Coordinator u In Peru, process has started to recruit a consultant to elaborate platform’s sector baseline analysis, stakeholder analysis and root cause analysis. Full team will be on board by April 2016. u Ongoing training on Platform Best Practices

Work Planning and Budgeting Global team supported planning processes in both countries In Indonesia: focus on managing the already existing participatory processes: full Root Cause Analysis, Steering Committee, Working Groups, Draft National Action Plan, Provincial Consultation Platforms In Peru: full diagnostic of the sector, stakeholder mapping, consultation and engagement activities, establishment of national team trained on best practices for facilitating National Commodities Platform. At the global level: workshop training, webinars, one to one training, online guidance, Community of Practice; global engagement; technical support missions

u Initial Meetings with Stakeholders : Ministries, Producers, Private Companies, Civil Society Organizations u Formal Inception Meeting in November 2015: Chamber of Exporters (Camara Peruana del Café y Cacao); The National Coffee Board (Junta Nacional del Café), Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, SCAN, Swiss Representation in Peru u Root Cause Analysis to assess policy and institutional framework, smallholder capacities and economic incentives u Insertion in a wider context of sustainability projects: GEF Sustainable Productive Landscapes; UNDP Programme on cocoa, palm oil and coffee; REDD+ bilateral agreement with Norway

u Platform guidance materials and methodologies: Training Workshop, 5 webinars in Spanish and English, online guidance on Google Drive, Workbook u Global Engagement: RSPO, TFA, IKEA and Mondelez field missions, technical workshops, private sector engagement strategy u Technical Support: Global Partnership Advisor and Global Platform Advisor’s missions to Indonesia; Project Manager’s mission to Peru. Administration, finance and operations global team direct technical support u Impact monitoring: Global M&E framework, a platform tracking tool to be developed using COSA monitoring tool as a basis u Communication: Communication Strategy, joint communication, website, specific communication material, branding, publicity
