Modest movements adhering to the strict palace customs and protocols. evolved from strictly a court dance into a folk dance enjoyed and performed by all individuals. Nevertheless, its graceful and modest movements have always remained
The elegance of the female dancer's elegance and decency are highlighted with delicate and polite gestures especially when accompanied by male dancers who embody such acts as a protector of female dancers but who appear to be virtuous and gallant. The swing of the hand (lambai, lenggang and lenggok) between the female dancer and the male dancer is different but still medium and lined with steady and blended footsteps. Although the style in which most of the dance routine life 'stylized by the Malay community, with lower order is still in its simplicity because otherwise it will seem harsh and inappropriate.
The role of the female dancer is usually to show off sulking, persuaded or persuading but always appear polite and in control without provoking sensual symbols.
