NASB Malachi 3: 1 1“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming, ” says the Lord of hosts.
I. WAIT – TO LINGER, TO LOOK FOR Psalm 27: 13 -14 NLT 13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. 14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 106: 13 NLT 13 Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn’t wait for his counsel!
II. WAIT – TO HOPE AND EXPECT Psalm 38: 13 -15 NLT 13 But I am deaf to all their threats. I am silent before them as one who cannot speak. 14 I choose to hear nothing, and I make no reply. 15 For I am waiting for you, O Lord. You must answer for me, O Lord my God. Psalm 119: 166 NIV 166 I wait for your salvation, Lord, and I follow your commands.
III. WAIT – TO WHIRL IN A DANCE OR TO WRITHE IN LABOR/SUFFERING Psalm 37: 5 -7 NLT 5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. 6 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. 7 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
