IMPRESSIONISM ART MOVEMENT • Research Impressionism as an art movement. • Time: 2 Hours • Collect information on Impressionism including key dates, artists and styles. • Collect images that you like and are from the artists from the Impressionist Movement. • Collect all your research and present your work in a Power. Point or Word document. • Make your work factual and visually interesting. • Talk about the art styles and the meaning about the work. What was the artist wanting to show?
What genre/style of work did they produce? Did this change over time? When were they born/did they die? Which decades did they mainly work in? Why have you chosen this artist or Art movement? What have you learned from them? How are you going to use this in your final piece? Framework for Analysis Name of Artist and Art Movement they belong to. What influenced their work in general; why did they work in this way? Was it travel, the influence of their childhood or other life experiences, contact with other artists or ideas that were popular at the time? What did they create? Did they paint, sculpt, take photographs, make prints or do something else? What materials did they use? Did their work stay the same or change over time? Choose an image by your artist and state its name. Describe the subject matter, use of colour, tone & texture, style or type of art and the atmosphere or mood it evokes. What was it influence by? What does it communicate and how? Include this image in your analysis.
