Implications of installing new hardware Needs to be compatible with the other hardware or it will not be recognised by the system and it will not be able to communicate with the other hardware. New hardware would be more costly than repairing it. You would have to install it, which can take a lot of time.

Benefits of maintaining current and older hardware Cost (Maintenance will reduce costs by preventing the need for replacing damaged/broken hardware) Keeps components working and extends the hardware's life for longer. Less time will be taken, as no installation is needed. The current hardware was compatible, so it is more likely to work.

If the CPU is upgraded then this will make the computer faster and it will be able to do calculations and tasks at a faster rate. This can be good for a company because if they would like to run photoshop more efficiently then all they have to do is upgrade the RAM and if they would like to add speed to their computer then they can upgrade the CPU. If the Graphics Processing Unit was upgraded then that would allow better quality images to be viewed and used because it has more graphical power. This can be good for businesses that want to make logos or design other picture based things.
