GSBPM GSIM CSPA Some foundations for sharing ---------------------- ---------- -- CSPA Catalogue (in progress)
CSPA Implementation Project In 2014: • Developing CSPA compliant services • Developing and implementing the CSPA catalogue • Training and guidelines
Developing CSPA Compliant Services Options for CSPA Services 1) Existing services that could be shared as CSPA services 2) Wrapping existing tools into a CSPA service 3) Build a new CSPA Service What makes a good candidate service for the CSPA Implementation Project? Proposed services to be included in the project should : - Perform a core statistical business function, i. e. in the scope of GSBPM, e. g. imputation or coding. - Deliverable within the ~10 month timeframe of the project. - The service should be stand alone (as much as possible): it should have few dependencies and ideally be built on a limited number of well established technologies.
Potential Candidates Existing services, CSPA ready Tools and services that could be wrapped Potential new CSPA tools and services • Edit and Imputation • Seasonal Adjustment • • Create RDBMS Tables based on • SDMX Transformation module • DDI • Flow Data Visualisation • Java Library for DDI • Significance Editing Engine • Generalised Regression Estimation Classification editor Standard web services to access metadata/data • Metadata driven questionnaires • Improved confidentiality methods and tools • Perturbation module • Questionnaire Design Tool • Statistician/assembler workbench • Population Clock web service • E-Questionnaire Collection • Data linking services • Population Pyramid Data • Generalized Tabulation • Automated coders • Generalized Estimation • DDI profile validation tool • Metadata Management • Classification Management • Small Area Estimation • Record Linkage • Innovative Microdata Access Visualisation • SVG graph generating engine (from SDMX) • Geocoding
Beyond 2014 projects -challenges • Timing & capacity • Governance sourcing/support models • Licenses and IP
Beyond 2014 projects -challenges • Risk • Technology stack and jurisdictional standards
Possible Solutions • Start small, accept smaller risks • Develop governance frameworks in parallel • Use established frameworks for sharing (creative commons) • Rolling set of integration projects
